Passport to Reading
" Imagine, Explore, Learn, Grow...... Read "
Students will have the opportunity to participate in the passport reading program again this year. Students need to pick a book according to the theme of the month. They need to read it, have a parent sign a slip saying that the book was read, then the student needs to staple it in their passport book at school. Each student that participates will get a small prize in the library at the end of the month. Their name will also be entered into a drawing for a book.
If students participate 7 out of the 8 months they will get to come to a ice cream party at the end of the year. If a class gets 100% participation for a month they will get cookies delivered to their classroom. Keep up the reading! (The theme for each month is found on the left hand side of this page).
Checkout
It is a great opportunity for the students to be able to check out books. First grade students get to check out one book. Second through fourth grade get to check out 2 books. Fifth and sixth get to check out 3 books. I expect the students to bring all of their library books to library every time they come. If they are not finished with their book, I will renew it for them. Books are overdue after 2 weeks. Please watch for notes that come home regarding overdue books. If books become lost, you will need to pay for them.
